Help is here

You are not alone.

At Helping the Blind Foundation, we are here to support you every step of the way. Blindness and visual impairment affect millions of people across the United States, and our mission is to make life easier, safer, and more fulfilling for everyone living with vision loss.

Consider this:

Approximately 3.4 million Americans aged 40 and older are blind or visually impaired, representing about 1.1% of the U.S. population in that age group. Due to an aging population and other factors, that number is expected to double by 2030. Additionally, over 12 million people in the U.S. experience vision problems, making this a significant public health concern.

But no matter where you fall on that spectrum—whether you are newly diagnosed or have lived with vision loss for years—please know that you do not have to face this journey by yourself.

We also understand that blindness and vision loss are deeply linked to emotional health. Research shows that individuals with visual impairment often face higher rates of depression, anxiety, and social isolation, which can severely impact quality of life.

That is why we are committed to providing not only practical resources but also compassionate, human connection. Our facilitators are ready to listen and help. Whether you need assistance with daily tasks, adaptive technology, emotional support, or simply someone to talk to, we are here for you.
